Ellie Goulding Biography

Elena Jane Goulding mostly known as Ellie Goulding is a British singer and songs writer. She was born on December 30th, 1986. She was born in a small village named Lyonshall in Herefordshire. Her mother worked at a supermarket while her father was from a family of undertakers. Both of them got separated when she was five years old.

Later on her mother married another man and he was a lorry driver. She went to the local school and used to take part in singing competitions. She started singing at the age of nine and learned guitar at the age of 14. She won a singing competition when she went to the college.

Later on she went to University of Kent for studying drama, politics and English. She began singing in university competitions and won the talent competition over there. Then she moved on to London to work on her own music. She released her solo song in 2009 “Under the sheets” with the help of Neon labels, it became a big hit and was acclaimed by the music critics of the industry. She also won the award for the rising start after the release of her first song.

Her first album was released in 2010 by the title of “Lights”. It came on the number one position in the UK charts. She added Elton John’s song “Your Song” as her cover song and it became a hit as well. She also performed at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding reception at Buckingham Palace. Her songs and her album gained the triple platinum certificate due to its popularity.

Ellie launched her much awaited second album in 2012 by the name of “Halcyon”. It was reviewed positively by the most critics of the industry. The song “Anything could happen” gained popularity within minutes of its release and marked its position on the top twenty songs, eventually going upwards for top five songs. This album was a hit in many countries including, America, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.

She went out for many tours and played on several concerts. She later on sung and contributed her voice in many sound tracks of movies including twilight saga breaking dawn. In 2013 she performed on BBC live, Britain’s got talent, multiple awards shows and several musical festivals worldwide.

Goulding then released a song form her album named “You my everything” on a TV show. She confirmed the news that she would be re-releasing the album Halcyon by the name of Halcyon days. She has a unique quality of voice which is said to serene and can go through the ups and downs of melody easily. She won the BBC, BRIT awards for rising star and one Glamour Magazine award.

She is very talented and can play multiple instruments as well while singing along; she plays guitar, mandolin, keyboards, and bass, Drums, percussion and clarinet. Due to her specialization in so many instruments it makes her understanding of the music clearer and better for a greater result.
